State BJP president Rajeev Bindal today said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s absence from the Niti Ayog meeting in Delhi today amounts to compromising the interest of Himachal.

In a statement issued here today, he said it was perhaps for the first time in the history of Himachal that at a platform where issues concerning every state were discussed had been boycotted by the Chief Minister. “His absence from the meeting is painful and injustice with the people of Himachal,” he remarked. He said all the CMs attend the meeting as discussions are held on the budget allocation and the future plan for development of any state.

Bindal said he had requested CM Sukhu to attend the meeting so that Himachal’s issues could be placed before the Niti Ayog. He said this kind of attitude on the behalf of the Chief Minister was unfortunate and damaging for the state and its people. — TNS
