While one would be opened in Kotkhai in Shimla, the other has been approved for Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur.
Education Minister Rohit Thakur said the schools were approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the basis of proposals recommended by the state government.
These two schools are among 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas approved for the entire country.
The minister further said that these schools will offer education from pre-primary level onwards under the CBSE curriculum, providing thousands of children access to quality learning within their districts.
He further said efforts of the Himachal Pradesh government in pursuing and recommending these institutions reflect its strong commitment to expand the best educational and infrastructural facilities in rural and semi-urban areas.
“These new Kendriya Vidyalayas will reduce the need for children to migrate for better schooling, open new opportunities for academic excellence, and further strengthen the state’s education and infrastructure network,” said Thakur.
