Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar inaugurated a war memorial in Bilaspur today. Speaking on the occasion, he said war memorials should be constructed in every district in the memory of soldiers who made supreme sacrifice for the country.

He said these monuments would educate coming generations and inspire them to join the Indian defence forces. The Governor brave soldiers from the state were protecting our borders and performing their duties with dedication so that people in the country could have live a life.

The Governor also honoured families of martyrs on the occasion. He also honoured members of the campaign team of “Ek Eint Shaheed Ke Naam”.

Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajender Garg, Bilaspur Sadar MLA Subhash Thakur and Jhandutta MLA Jeet Ram Katwal, Zilla Parishad president Kumari Muskan, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal and DC Pankaj Rai, were also present on the occasion.
