Addressing the gathering, Shukla said voters form the strongest pillar of democracy and the inclusion of every eligible citizen in the electoral roll is vital for strengthening the democratic process. He stated that the right to vote empowers citizens to shape the nation’s future and it is therefore essential that no eligible person is left out of the voter list.

The Governor urged all eligible citizens — especially youth, women and first-time voters — to take full advantage of the special verification campaign and ensure that their names are duly registered.
