The state government today issued an order to raise Dearness Allowance (DA) of all government employees by four per cent. Finance Secretary Devesh Kumar issued the order in this regard. The DA has now increased from the existing 38 per cent to 42 per cent. The enhanced DA will be payable to government employees and officers from October 1.

As per the order, the additional DA shall be paid in cash with this month’s salary payable on October 28 and the arrears accrued January 1, 2023, onwards shall be paid in a manner prescribed in the order.

The DA for the employees subscribing to the new pension scheme (NPS) would be regulated by separate orders issued from time to time. Other terms and conditions as contained in the office memorandum of January 3, 2022, shall continue to be applicable.

The order for the grant of DA also specified that the payment involving a fraction of 50 paise and above may be rounded off to the next higher rupee and a fraction of less than 50 paise may be ignored.
