The Khelo India North Zone Asmita Women’s Pencak Silat League, organised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), took place at Eklavya Stadium in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In this prestigious competition, the team from Himachal Pradesh delivered an outstanding performance, winning one gold and one silver medal in the sub-junior category.

Joginder Singh Azad, president of the Pencak Silat Association of Himachal Pradesh, shared that around 450 athletes from 9 states of north zone participated in this event. The state team was represented by 15 female athletes, competing across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories in the event.

In the sub-junior category, Sakshi Thakur from Bilaspur district clinched gold medal in the 54 kg weight category, while Sheran Sen won the silver medal in the 45 kg category.

The success of these athletes was celebrated by the Himachal Pradesh Pencak Silat Association’’s top officials, including chairman HD Panchani, president Joginder Singh Azad, general secretary Mohammad Javed, vice presidents Surender Kumar and Brij Chauhan, treasurer Banita Kumari, and members Narender, Rohan and Daivgya Awasthi.

Joginder Singh Azad expressed gratitude and extended congratulations to all the medal winners and coaches. He praised the hard work and dedication of the participants and encouraged continued success for the state in future competitions.
