Himachal to receive heavy rainfall on October 6, 7

As per the department, an orange warning has been issued for Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Chamba district for October 6, resulting in a very heavy spell of rain along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in isolated areas of these districts.
The department has also issued a yellow weather warning for Shimla, Solan, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts for October 6, resulting in heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lightning in isolated places of these districts. Apart from this, a yellow weather warning has also been issued for seven districts, including Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Chamba for October 7.
The department officials stated that a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from October 6 due to which the state will receive heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rain will continue across the state till October 8, after which weather will remain dry. The official mentioned that during this period, minimum temperatures will dip by 2°C to 3°C while maximum temperatures will fall by 2°C to 6°C and will gradually rise by 2°C to 5°C within the next few days.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall occurred in many parts of the state during the last 24 hours. Dharamsala received 25.5 mm rain, Bilaspur 20.4 mm, Kangra 18.4 mm, Bhuntar 17 mm, Mandi and Manali received 13 mm, Palampur 10.2 mm, Sundernagar 9.4 mm, Shimla 8 mm, Kasauli 7 mm and Nahan 4 mm rain.
