Holi festivities began at Sujanpur here today with Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur leading the ‘Shobha Yatra’. He also paid obeisance at the Murli Manohar Temple and performed various rituals.

The historical Sujanpur Holi festival was the initiative of Raja Sansar Chand, the erstwhile king of Sujanpur estate who started the tradition of celebrating the festival of colours with public.

Thakur also inaugurated exhibition stalls of various departments representing their achievements and development programmes. The minister danced to the tunes of folk music and applied colours on people present on the occasion.
