Himachal Pradesh has bagged the first position in Systematic Progressive Analytical and Real Time Ranking (SPARK) Awards for the successful operation of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana — National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for 2023-24 financial year.
The Union Government has awarded the first position to the state under the category of overall performance among North-Eastern region and hilly states.
The award was given by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar during an event ‘Utkrishtata Ki Aur Badte Kadam’ in New Delhi recently. Gopal Chand, Director, Urban Development-cum-State Mission Director DAY-NULM, along with his team, received the award.
The department has congratulated the entire DAY-NULM team for getting the first position in the SPARK awards.
Gopal Chand said the department had been able to achieve the top rank under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Minister for Urban Development Vikramaditya Singh.
He added that in 2024-25 financial year also, the state will get first place for the successful operation of DAY-NULM.
