Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has announced that it would conduct an objective-type (MCQ) entrance test for admission to the Bachelor of Education (BEd) course in its Department of Education, as well as in private colleges affiliated with the university. The test is scheduled for May 27, with online applications invited from eligible candidates between April 10 and May 12.

Dr Shyam Lal Kaushal, Controller of Examinations at HPU, said the online application forms are available on the official university website (www.admissions.hpushimla.in). Candidates can also download the prospectus from the website for more details.

Dr Kaushal explained 85 per cent of the BEd seats are reserved for bonafide Himachal Pradesh residents, while 15 per cent are allocated for candidates from other states. For inquiries, students can contact the university at 0177-2833648 and 2830891.

In related news, HPU has declared the results for the Master of Science (MSc) and Master of Arts (MA) exams held in December 2024.

The MSc exams in Chemistry, Botany, Physics, and Zoology saw impressive pass rates. In MSc Chemistry, 91.18 per cent of Semester-I and 91.27 per cent of Semester-III students passed. MSc Botany had a 90.98 per cent pass rate in Semester-I and 91.54 per cent in Semester-III. MSc Physics saw 83.78 per cent of students pass in Semester-I and 89.25 per cent in Semester-III. MSc Zoology had 91.42 per cent pass rate in Semester-I, while 78.33 per cent passed in Semester-III.

In the MA English exams, 98.13 per cent of students passed Semester-I, while 96.73 per cent cleared Semester-III.
