HP wins 3 national panchayat awards
Himachal Pradesh has won three national panchayat awards. The awards have been given to the panchayats from across the country in nine themes of Localised Sustainable Development Goals. Thanadhar gram panchayat in Shimla district has won the second prize in the theme of Socially Secured Village and will receive a reward of Rs 75 lakh. This panchayat has also won the third prize in the Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar and will get Rs 50 lakh.
In the theme for Water Sufficient Panchayat, Sikander gram panchayat in Bamson block of Hamirpur district has got the second prize. It will get Rs 75 lakh as reward.
The President of India will give away the awards at a national-level ceremony to held in the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on December 11.
