Dr DK Vatsa, Vice-Chancellor (V-C), Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, said here today that the university has taken various steps to promote the cultivation of pulses, millets and vegetables in Bilaspur district through its Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and Research Sub Station at Berthin. Dr Vatsa expressed his views during an interacting with farmers, scientists and students at KVK.

The V-C asked the farmers to bring more area under pulses to increase their income. He also advised them to visit the university campus at Palampur and maintain a live link with university KVKs and the research station to update their farm knowledge.

Dr Vatsa also interacted with students of Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme. He asked them to disseminate new agro-techniques in farmers’ field during village attachment.

During his visit to the demonstration and seed production farm, he appreciated the scientists for maintaining the farm.
