HPCC to be re-constituted in 15 days: Rajni Patil

Newly appointed AICC in-charge for Himachal Rajni Patil today said that the dissolved Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) and other party units at the district and block levels would be re-constituted within the next 15 days by ensuring regional and caste balance.

Rajni, while addressing mediapersons here after wrapping up her two-day visit to Himachal, said that there should be good coordination between the party and the government, which would be her primary responsibility. “Right now, the issue is to constitute the party units at the state, district, block and booth levels at the earliest. As far as the state president is concerned, we already have a person in place,” she added.

Rajni held parleys with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, ministers, MLAs, former MLAs and senior party leaders during her two-day visit. She said that she had been entrusted the task of strengthening the party organisation in Himachal. “The BJP has set a wrong narrative that there is resentment among ministers, MLAs and party leaders in Himachal, which is totally wrong,” she added.

She said, “It is one year since our government did not let the operation lotus succeed in Himachal. The BJP is in the habit of breaking other parties and destabilising governments by misusing investigative agencies like the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).” She added that the state government was performing very well and it had taken several pro-people welfare measures.

Rajni said, “The Congress will again come to power in 2027 as its government is doing very good work. The financial position of the state is improving with the efforts of the government, contrary to what I had heard in Delhi. When there was a double-engine government, there was no dearth of funds but the Central Government did not extend financial help to Himachal deliberately.”

She alleged that the Central Government was trying to create hurdles for the Himachal Government but the Chief Minister and his government were still doing a commendable job.

She said that it was not possible to adjust all leaders in the government, especially in a small state like Himachal, but efforts would be made to accommodate a maximum number of them. “I will ensure proper coordination between the party and the government,” she added.
