After abolishing 51 posts of engineer, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has decided to discontinue the services of 81 drivers employed with the board on an outsource basis. The board has written to State Electronics Development Corporation to take immediate action so that the emoluments/wages of the surplus drivers were not claimed from November 1 onwards.

In the letter, the board has mentioned that some divers in the organisation had become surplus after some vehicles, which had completed 15 years on the road, have been scrapped as per the directive of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The “surplus” drivers are offering their services at various places in the state.
