The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) management has written to the state government and Vigilance Bureau, seeking action against former HPSEBL official Suneel Grover for alleged wrongdoings during his tenure. “Grover was responsible for the construction of the 400KV Kunihar line against the advice of the finance wing, resulting in an expenditure of Rs 126 crore,” claimed an HPSEBL spokesperson, adding that the construction was done without a substation.

The management has further claimed that the award for the 66KV Nadhukar substation was placed without forest clearance and expenditure sanction, leading to unutilised material worth Rs 35 crore. The management has also pointed finger at a former HPSEBL CMD without mentioning his name.

Grover, when contacted, rejected the allegations, calling it false and malicious. “These baseless allegations are levelled to divert the attention from the allegations the employees and pensioners have made against the management. I will shortly respond to these allegations at a proper platform with all facts and figures,” said Grover.
