HPTDC Chairman RS Bali) said the corporation had been organising special programmes on Christmas and New Year at its premier hotels in the state. This year, a variety of programmes would be organised at smaller units keeping in view the taste, requirement and budget of the clients.

“Efforts would be made to provide facilities at a nominal cost to reach out to tourists and popularise lesser-known destinations, besides increasing revenue. If the trial would be successful it would be made an annual affair from next year. The idea is to make the New Year special, besides generating revenue,” Bali added.

About 70 per cent rooms in premier hotels of HPTDC have already been booked and even before the start of the peak winter season, the occupancy in other hotels have also touched 60 per cent.
