Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) director Amber Mahajan, in a statement issued here today, said that some BJP leaders through media were wrongly stating that 14 properties of the HPTDC were being sold and floating a slogan “Himachal on sale”. Such claims were beyond facts.

He said the identified loss-gathering properties were being leased out to the private players under the Operation and Maintenance (OAM) model. The ownership of the properties would continue to remain with the state government.

The director said the implementation of this model would be undertaken strictly as per government’s terms and conditions ensuring transparency, accountability without any adverse impact on the services of employees of the HPTDC serving in these properties. “The ONM model envisages that private partners may invest in the renovation and enhancement of these loss gathering units with an aim of improving their operational efficiency and guest experience,” he asserted.
