The decision has been taken following the approval of the university’s Executive Council and Vice-Chancellor Mahavir Singh.
Dean of Studies, HPU, BK Shivram said that the university had invited applications from all interested college teachers for recognition as Ph.D supervisors. He added that all college teachers must ensure that they fulfil all conditions prescribed by the UGC for eligibility as supervisors.
He said all application forms must be duly verified (counter-signed) by the Principal of the college concerned and the Directorate of Higher Education. “The university will allocate Ph.D research scholars to the recognised teachers on the basis of vacancies available, laboratory facilities and other required infrastructure in the relevant subject,” he added.
Shivram said fulfilling this long-pending demand was an important step in the direction of strengthening the university’s research system in line with the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor.
