After five years of dedicated work, Parima Jaswal, a former student of the Department of Chemistry at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), has reached ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), a TV show hosted by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, bringing pride to her family and the university.

Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor (VC), HPU, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to her on this achievement. Jaswal visited the university during which she met the V-C and other senior members of the staff.

Hailing from Hamirpur district, Jaswal is currently residing in the Ghoda Chowki area of Shimla. Her father, Amar Chand, serves as a lecturer at Government Senior Secondary School, Ghanahatti, while her mother, Kamlesh Kumari, works as a private secretary at the HPU. Her younger brother is pursuing a BCA from the varsity.

The episode featuring her has been shot and will be broadcast tonight.

Speaking on her feat, Jaswal said that her success was the result of the blessings of her family, teachers and friends. She expressed gratitude to Sony Entertainment Television and the KBC team for considering her worthy of the platform. She also thanked Bachchan, saying that the moments spent with him were an unforgettable experience of her life.

People and students across the state have also congratulated Jaswal and called her achievement an inspiring milestone for the daughters of Himachal Pradesh.
