This step aims to equip students with essential skills needed to thrive in a data-driven and technologically advancing era.
The courses will be designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI and data science, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. Students will learn how to develop intelligent systems and extract meaningful insights from vast amounts of data using scientific methods and algorithms.
HPU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mahavir Singh emphasized the importance of this decision, stating that AI has become indispensable due to its capacity to simplify complex tasks and enhance efficiency across various domains. He added that with AI and data science emerging as key drivers of future innovation and employment, it is crucial for students to gain expertise in these fields.
“Today’s companies rely heavily on data-driven insights and intelligent systems,” Prof Singh said. “There is a high demand for professionals who can analyse data effectively and create AI-powered solutions to solve real-world problems.”
Currently, HPU offers Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science through its Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
