HPU extends date for admission to July 21

Following the demand of students as well as principals of various colleges, the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has extended the last date for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses for the 2025-26 academic session to July 21. Earlier, the university had extended the last date till July 7.

As per an official notification issued by the university here today, all government and private colleges and institutions affiliated the university has been directed to allow students to take admission till the specified date.

HPU Registrar Gian Sagar Negi said the university had received various letters from students and principals, urging the university to extend the last date of the admission. They had cited various unavoidable reasons while seeking the extension.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
