Dr Rajiv Saizal, Health and Family Welfare and Ayurveda Minister unfurled the national flag on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day at the historic Chowghan ground at Nahan.

He took salute of an impressive parade. Addressing the gathering, he recalled the supreme sacrifices made by the brave soldiers and freedom fighters for the nation’s independence.

Saizal elaborated upon the development initiatives of the state government and said 73,000 Ayushman cards have been made in the state and 3,680 people extended free treatment. Under the Himcare scheme, 30,981 cards have been made in the district and 3,828 people have benefitted in Sirmaur district. A sum of 1.34 crore has been spent for free treatment under the Himcare scheme in the district.

He also launched the Ayush plus decoction kits on the occasion as well as the Mukhyamantri Ek bigha yojna in the district.
