Health and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil here today the departments concerned to identify all vacant posts for the persons with benchmark disability by February 29 as per the directions of the Central Government.

The minister assured the representatives of the Blind Persons Association that the government would pay special attention to the issue of backlog posts for ensuring them a speedy solution.

While stating that there was 4 per cent reservation provision for the persons with disability in government jobs, the minister directed the departments to ensure that the roster of reservation for the persons with disability was implemented strictly at the time of filling posts, regularisation and promotion.

Shandil said the issue related to subsidised travel in the non-stop buses or outside of Himachal Pradesh in state transport and various other related issues would also be taken up with the Transport Department for the benefit of these people.
