The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has received a donation exceeding USD 86,000 (Rs 75 lakh) from US-based philanthropists Satish and Kamlesh Agarwal to establish the “Satish and Kamlesh Agrawal Charitable Fund, Houston, Texas, USA.” The endowment would support student scholarships, faculty and student travel grants, infrastructure development, smart classrooms and research and innovation projects.

The fund would operate as a Master Account, with up to 90 per cent of the annual interest income used for approved initiatives while preserving the principal corpus for long-term sustainability.

The IIT Mandi Director, Laxmidhar Behera, expressed appreciation for the donors’ support for higher education and innovation.
