IIT-Mandi to hold convocation on September 28

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi is preparing for its 12th Convocation ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, September 28. Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), will be the chief guest. The event will also see participation of guests, including Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar; Narendra Kumar Arya, Director of ER & IPR at DRDO; and Krishna Ika, CEO & Chairman of Brainwave Science. The ceremony will be presided over by Lt Gen Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon (Retd), Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Mandi.

This year’s convocation will honor 636 graduates, comprising 297 undergraduates, 284 postgraduates, and 55 Ph.D. scholars, marking a significant milestone for the IIT Mandi community.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
