The proper implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) is important for student-centric education and to bring desired results of the policy started by the government.

This was stated by education expert Sushma Kumari, who was part of the North Zone NEP workshop organised by Vidhaya Bharti at Seven Star School in Bani village near here today.

It was important to deliver value-added education to students at an early stage, she added. The workshop was inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla yesterday.

The workshop commenced with a yoga session, and concluded with group discussions on various aspects of NEP. Desh Raj Sharma, another speaker at the workshop, discussed on the role, responsibilities and contribution of the teaching community, especially the heads of institutions.

Monika, an educationist, emphasised the importance of mother tongue and the process required to make students comfortable with their first language in all spheres of life.

During the workshop, participants visited the shrine of Baba Balak Nath at Deotsidh.
