Shimla: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh here on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the link road from Tara Devi Bypass to Matholi in Keonthal gram panchayat (Shimla district). The minister directed the department concerned to complete the tender process of the construction of the 1.5 km link road within 20 days.

HC designates 11 as sr advocates

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has designated 11 advocates as senior advocates with immediate effect. The advocates designated as senior advocates are Vijay Kumar Arora, Viplav Sharma, Tara Singh Chauhan, Sunil Mohan Goel, Suneet Goel, Subhash Sharma, Peeyush Verma, Neeraj Sharma, Kashmir Singh Thakur, Balram Sharma and Anshul Bansal.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
