The Indian Railways has issued a circular, notifying the new timings of the Una to Saharanpur Special MEMU passenger train, which has now been extended to Haridwar. The inaugural run of the train will be flagged off on Monday (March 4) from the Una railway station by Union Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.
As per the circular released to the media today, train number 04502 MEMU Special Passenger train will start from Una railway station at 1.50 pm and reach Haridwar the same day at 9 pm. During the journey, the train will halt at Ambala Cantonment at 5.32 pm, Saharanpur at 7.20 pm and Roorkee at 8 pm.
On its return journey, train number 04501 will start from Haridwar at 4.30 am and reach Una at 12.30 pm the same day. On the way, the train will halt at Roorkee at 5.25 am, Saharanpur at 6.20 am and Ambala Cantonment at 8.15 am. From Kulari, the train will bypass Chandigarh and take the Sirhind route to Ambala.
Sumit Sharma, Member (North Zone) of the Indian Railways Commercial wing, said the extended train service would benefit religious tourists and those going to Haridwar to immerse the ashes of their loved ones in the Ganga.
