In his address, Dr Puri emphasised that heart disease was not solely caused by smoking or alcohol consumption, but was increasingly linked to lifestyle changes, unhealthy eating habits and rising levels of stress. He highlighted the importance of early awareness, regular medical checkups and lifestyle modifications to prevent heart diseases.

He also shared that congenital heart diseases could occur in children due to factors like intake of inappropriate medication or alcohol consumption during pregnancy. He pointed out that the prevalence of heart diseases was higher in India as compared to foreign countries due to irregular lifestyle and increased stress levels.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where the students and faculty cleared their doubts related to heart diseases and mental stress management. Dr Puri stressed the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle to avoid severe health conditions in the future.
