India is in the celebration mode while the Congress is in the protest mode, said BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra while addressing mediapersons here today.

He criticised Congress leaders for making derogatory remarks against President Droupadi Murmu. He said that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, called the President of India ‘Rashtriya-Patni’ during a protest organised by the Congress in Delhi

“The office of the President is a constitutional post and the Congress leader’s remarks are anti-Constitution, anti-women and anti-tribal,” he added.

Patra said that Sonia Gandhi should apologise to the nation, as protests were taking place at her behest and the Congress was trying to protect her from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Earlier, Patra attended a party meeting regarding the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme at the BJP headquarters, Deepkamal, at Chakkar here. State vice-president Ratan Pal Singh, convener of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme, presided over the meeting.

Patra said that around 17 lakh households would hoist the national flag and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme would be organised from August 9 to 15 under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav’, he added.

He gave tips to party leaders on how to make the programme a success. He said that social media would also play a vital role in the programme.
