Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a befitting reply to the terror attack on tourists at Pahalgam on April 22, as he had promised to the nation.

Thakur, in an informal interaction with mediapersons here, said, “India has taken revenge for the April 22 attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam for which Modi should be praised. Indian armed forces have taken revenge for the Pahalgam killings by destroying targets 100 km into Pakistan and attacked nine terror training centres accurately and by ensuring that civilian population was not harmed,” he added.

He said that Pakistan was shell shocked and bewildered as how to retaliate to the strikes by Indian forces against terror training centres. “The entire nation stands united against terrorism sponsored by Pakistan,” he added.

Thakur said that the state would act on the guidelines of the Central Government for civil safety and ensuring supply of essential supplies. He added that holding mock drills anywhere, including Himachal, was necessary as part of the preparedness for any eventuality in the near future.
