On the occasion of National Pledge Day, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani paid tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary and India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary at a programme organised at the rest house at Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district.

Dharmani said that Indira Gandhi provided a new direction to the country through her indomitable courage, determination and strong leadership. He added that her visionary decisions laid the foundation for making India a self-reliant, strong and progressive nation, the impact of which was still visible in the country’s ongoing development journey.

He said that Indira’s life was a unique example of dedication, integrity and hard work for the nation. She made the supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of India and her legacy continues to inspire generations, he added. Congress workers paid tribute to Indira Gandhi at the PWD Rest House here.

The minister said that National Pledge Day reminded every citizen to reaffirm their commitment to national unity, integrity and progress. He urged people to contribute actively to nation-building by working with honesty, dedication and patriotism in their respective fields.

Former Congress president Suman Bharti, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Anita Verma, former MLA Kuldeep Pathania, APMC Chairman Ajay Sharma, congress leaders Pushpinder Verma, Rakesh Rani Verma, Rajesh Chaudhary, Anil Chaudhary, Neelam Thakur and members of the NSUI and the Youth congress were also present on the occasion.
