Waste flowing in a drain near the Panchrukhi railway station could lead to blockage. As it is, it’s causing insanitary conditions and emanating foul smell. There is no footpath along the drain, causing inconvenience to pedestrians. The road has not been properly levelled, too. —Satish Sharma, Kangra

Patients suffer due to doctors’ strike

The pen-down strike of doctors at government hospitals in the state has become a major problem for the patients as well as their family members. There were no doctors in the morning at the Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital (IGMC) to attend the patients, causing much grief to everyone. The authorities should take immediate action to ensure the patients are not neglected, for the strike has been going on for several days. —Praveen, Shimla

JOA result not being declared

As many as 817 JOA IT candidates have been waiting for the government to declare the examination result, but in vain — we are getting only repeated assurances. Several candidates are staging a protest in Shimla to get a response from the authorities concerned. Our future will be in jeopardy if the government does not declare the result soon. —Ankita, Bilaspur
