Inter-college games begin at Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur

Vice-Chancellor Dr DK Vatsa was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the annual inter-college games and athletics meet at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (CSKHPAU) here today.

While declaring the meet open, the VC said students of the university had excelled in academic activities at the national-level, but they also need to perform well in sports and cultural activities with the same spirit.

Dr Vatsa said various sports and athletics competitions help in strengthening comradeship, understanding and mutual respect, and also reduces stress.

Students’ Welfare Officer Dr RS Chandel said more than 230 students were taking part in 25 athletic events and 10 sports events like football, basketball, volleyball, etc.
