Shimla, May 20

TheCabinet Sub Committee, which met here today under the chairmanship of IPH Minister Mahender Singh, recommended intra-district and inter-district public transport in the state.

The sub-committee also directed the authorities to explore the possibilities of including NOC of mining in the Investment Promotion Bill and simplifying the procedures of mining.

The members of the committee Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Industries Minister Bikram Singh and Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur were present in the meeting. The committee emphasised on strengthening the health sector.

Rural Development Department apprised the committee that to provide employment at local level, all development activities have been resumed in rural areas. Directions were given for 80 per cent payment for works in panchayats so as to provide wages regularly, stated the official release.

Three fully automatic additional weigh motion bridges would be established at Swarghat, Nalagarh and Damtal. Directions were given to explore possibilities of simplifying forest clearances and steps were proposed to expedite FCA cases.
