The 27th state-level three-day Inter-Polytechnic Girls Sports Meet concluded on Wednesday at the Government Girls Polytechnic Institute, Rehan, in the Fatehpur Assembly constituency. A total of 212 girl trainees from 16 government polytechnic institutes across Himachal Pradesh participated in the event.

On the final day, the Polytechnic Institute Kandaghat, Solan, clinched the volleyball title by defeating the Polytechnic Institute Kinnaur 2-0. Kandaghat also secured victory in the table tennis finals, beating the host Rehan institute 2-0. In badminton, the host institute claimed a strong win, defeating Kandaghat 2-0 in the final.

Organised by the Vocational and Industrial Training Wing of the State Technical Education Department, the meet was held under the theme “Participation is more important than winning.” The event was inaugurated on Monday by Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar. Dr Richa Mahrotra, Block Medical Officer, Fatehpur, presided over the closing ceremony and presented awards to the winning and runner-up teams.
