The State Taxes and Excise Department yesterday auctioned various units of the Parwanoo inter-state toll tax barrier for Rs 21.13 crore as against the reserve price of Rs 20.59 crore.

The auction was held under the chairmanship of Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma.

Shilpa Kapil, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise, Solan, said that the Parwanoo toll unit includes the inter-state barrier at Parwanoo town, another at Sector 4 and on the Tipra bypass.

The reserve price for the Parwanoo toll unit was fixed at Rs 20.59 crore. The highest bid of Rs 21.13 crore for this unit was placed by M/s Robinjit Singh Sandhu, of Anandpur Sahib in Punjab among four bidders.

The Additional Commissioner, State Tax and Excise, South Zone, was also present in the auction process. The state government had decided to auction-cum-tender all entry tax barriers for the financial year 2025-26, expecting a 7.5 per cent increase in the revenue as compared to 2024-25.
