Over 40 films were screened on the second day of 10th International Film Festival of Shimla. The festival is being organised under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Department of Language, Art and Culture (LAC) from August 16 to 18 at the Gaiety Theatre.

The festival attracted a huge crowd of visitors on the second day, enthralling the gathering with a line-up of insightful films screened through the day. Two simultaneous screenings of films as part of the festival took place at Model Central Jail, Kanda, near here and Model Central Jail Nahan, Sirmaur, for inmates. Susheel Thakur, Superintendent of Model Central Jail, Kanda, and Vinod Chambyal, Superintendent of Model Central Jail, Nahan, released the festival booklet within their respective prison premises.

Bachpan, a special section dedicated to children’s cinema, showcased specially curated films.The festival offers a fusion of screenings, panel discussions, master classes and networking opportunities for filmmakers and industry professionals. Festival director Pushp Raj Thakur said the festival provided an outstanding platform for local filmmakers and artistes to showcase their work.
