The international summer festival in Shimla is set to commence on June 1. The fest, which will conclude on June 5, will witness the presence of renowned singers from Punjab and Bollywood as well as local artists.

Shimla Deputy Commissioner and Summer Festival Committee chairman Anupam Kashyap said several activities would be daily organised at different locations in the town. He said the historic Ridge would be decorated with colourful lights.

He further said this year, the themes of the festival were ‘Drive Against Drugs’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. “A grand Nati (traditional Himachali folk dance) will be performed daily at 3 pm in front of the Police Reporting Room. A table tennis competition will be organised at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex for students from all schools in the district,” he said.
