The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested Sharif Mohd posted as the Junior Engineer in the Basdehra Municipal Council of Una district on graft charges.

Balbir Thakur, Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Dharamsala, said accused was caught red-handed, while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Pardeep Kumar of Basdehra.

A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
