JICA team arrives for mid-term review of forestry project
A team from JICA India is currently in the state for the mid-term review of the forestry project, which started in 2018 and will continue till 2028. As per the project spokesperson, the team arrived in Kullu on Monday and praised the progress and implementation of the initiative in the state.
Vineet Sareen, Chief of Development Operations at JICA India and a member of the mid-term review mission, said the team would outline the next phase of the project after reviewing the work done so far under the project.
Sareen said the project was currently supporting 460 Village Forest Development Societies and 920 self-help groups across the state, and making a significant contribution to livelihood improvement, women empowerment and forest ecosystem management.
