It’s no big secret that self-help groups had a major role in actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut's win from the Mandi Parliamentary segment. A major chunk of women did vote for her, and why not as promised, she is trying her best to promote them.

Kangana won on a BJP ticket, defeating Vikramaditya Singh, a Congress' leader from Himachal Pradesh.

She recently took to her Instagram stories to appreciate women from Himachal Pradesh.

Here she not just spoke about how hard they work, but also how good looking they are.

She called them hard-working and also gave a shoutout to her fellow Himachal actresses, including Preity Zinta, Yami Gautam and Pratibha Ranta.

"#peopleofhimachal When I go to Himachal and see our women equally or better looking than us work tirelessly in the fields no insta no reels raising cattle and making the ends meet. I feel they can definitely do with some hype. #himachaligenes #himachaliwomen," wrote Kangana, sharing a picture of herself with Preity, Yami, and Pratibha Ratna.

She had recently inaugurated a Craft Handloom village at Sharan in Himachal's Kullu district and inspected the local craft and handloom produced by women. She also visited a local craft and handloom exhibition and distributed certificates and tools to women entrepreneurs.

"The village scheme would prove to be a boon for craftsmen engaged in weaving and producing traditional products like shawls and pattoo, as there is a huge demand for these products across the country, and the products are exported to 30 countries," she said while talking to reporters in Naggar.

"It is a big step taken by the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the local artisans of Himachal Pradesh. He understands that Himachal is more than its mountains, rivers and scenic beauty...We want our locally designed and made woollens to be cherished by the people of India," Ranaut said.

The traditional shoes of Manali, locally called 'pule', are unique specimens of craftsmanship, and besides being comfortable, it is also environment friendly, she added.
