Kangra gears up for winter session in Dharamsala

Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on Friday chaired a review meeting with the district administration and heads of various departments to assess preparations for the upcoming Winter Session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, scheduled to be held in Dharamsala from November 26 to December 5.

The meeting was attended by ADC Vinay Kumar, ADM Shilpi Bekta, Additional Superintendent of Police Veer Bahadur, SDM Mohit Rattan, Assistant Commissioner Jagdeep Kanwar and senior officers from various departments.

The DC directed all departments to ensure timely completion of arrangements to facilitate the smooth and successful conduct of the session. Key areas discussed included security and law enforcement, accommodation for legislators and senior officials, traffic and parking management, water and power supply, food and catering services, health facilities and cleanliness in and around the Assembly complex.

Bairwa emphasised maintaining strict law and order and ensuring seamless traffic movement during the session. He also instructed departments to make adequate accommodation and catering arrangements for guests and officials arriving in Dharamsala.

Special directions were issued to the Health Department to ensure round-the-clock medical arrangements at the Assembly premises, Zonal Hospital Dharamsala and Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital, Tanda.

The DC reviewed preparedness across key departments, including Public Works, Jal Shakti, Electricity, Police, Tourism, Health, Information and Public Relations, Fire Services and Transport, urging officials to complete all required works well in advance of the session.
