Kangra man gets 9-month jail in NDPS case

The convict has been identified as Sunil Katoch, alias Lucky, of Rit village in Jaisinghpur tehsil, Kangra district. The case against him was registered at Police Station Bhavarna on March 4, 2021.
According to the prosecution, during a vehicle-checking operation at Khaira that day, the police recovered 130 gm of charas from Katoch, who was traveling in an Alto car bearing temporary registration number HP 2021-T/R-4983B. The substance was seized on the spot and a case was registered, followed by a detailed investigation.
After completion of the trial and hearing arguments from both sides, the court held Katoch guilty. The role of independent witnesses in corroborating the recovery was acknowledged as crucial in establishing the case.
