Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar today paid tributes to former Vice-Chief of the Indian Staff Lt Gen SK Patial at Thanakalan village in Bangana subdivision.

General Patial hailed from Hatli village in Bangana subdivision and had been residing in Delhi, where died of Covid recently.

General Patial was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1979 in the Gorkha Rifles and retired as the Vice-Chief of the Army Staff in 2018. His wife Maj Gen Sagarika Patial served in the Army Medical Corps.

Kanwar said despite being born in a small village of Kutlehar segment, he rose to a high rank due to his dedication and hard work.
