Karsog gets Rs 55 crore development projects

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects of around Rs 55 crore in the Karsog Assembly constituency of Mandi district. Karsog MLA Hira Lal accompanied the Chief Minister.
He laid the foundation stone of a lift water supply scheme from Behna Khud to Sarahan, Teban, Gawalpur, Balidhar and Sanarali to be constructed at a cost of Rs 10.28 crore and another scheme at Shahot, Nanj and Chouridhar costing Rs 2.62 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Thakur also laid the foundation stone of the Sarahan to Sanog road to be constructed under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (Rs 5.81 crore) and the Shakailar to Tuman road on the Ghorli Khud (Rs 2.62 crore). He inaugurated the Khadargali to Somakothi road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore.
He also laid the foundation stone of a Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture) office building (Rs 1.26 crore) at Karsog, the expansion of the Bhakrot-Sanarli-Kelodhar-Luhri road (Rs 16 crore), the Mamel to Bhanera road (Rs 4.55 crore) and a Sub Treasury office building (Rs 1.4 crore). He also inaugurated the Dabrot to Mahandi road constructed at a cost of Rs 2.91 crore, a primary health centre building at Seri Banglow (Rs 85 lakh) and the Seri to Mahaban road constructed at a cost of Rs 4.43 crore.
The Chief Minister announced to upgrade the primary health centre at Ashla to a community health centre, opening of a veterinary dispensary at Ashla, upgrade of the high school at Richani to the senior secondary level, and the upgrade of the middle school at Bagh Chauwasi to a high school. He also sanctioned Rs 10 lakh each for the construction of three link roads in the area.
Thakur, while addressing public meetings at Ashla and Karsog, said that at present the work on 51 water supply and irrigation schemes was in progress in the Karsog Assembly segment at a cost of Rs 77 crore. He added that the state government had constructed 13 link roads in Karsog at a cost of around Rs 42 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
He said that under NABARD, around 36 km roads had been constructed in the area at a cost of Rs 27 crore. Besides, roads and bridges had been constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore under various government schemes.
