Keher Singh Khachi, vice-chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation, stated on Sunday that Chamba district was the richest in terms of forest wealth across the entire state.

“Meaningful efforts are necessary for the conservation and expansion of these resources to preserve valuable forest wealth,” Khachi said during a media interaction. Khachi said the Forest Development Corporation operates five units in the district. He stated the corporation, which had been running at a loss in recent years, has been revived through substantial efforts.

To strengthen human resources within the corporation, a special plan has been introduced for recruitment, said Khachi. He emphasised the state government is taking essential steps toward environmental conservation. He called on the public to prioritise the preservation of natural resources.

Earlier, a delegation of contractors registered with the Forest Development Corporation met with Khachi at Circuit House to discuss their concerns. Khachi assured the delegation their problems would be addressed on a priority.
