As many as 800 saplings were planted at Nandal village in Solan block today as part of the 72nd Van Mahotsav celebration under the aegis of the Forest Department and the Red Cross Society.

SDM Ajay Yadav said 50 plants were planted by girls of nearby villages as part of the “Ek Boota Beti Ke Naam” for setting up a Balika Samman Vatika.

BJP Mahila Morcha president Rashim Dhar Sood said the vatika would create positive thinking towards the girlchild. — TNS
