A large number of people participated in the grand procession here today to celebrate the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. The procession, which was taken out from Ramshila Hanuman Temple to Dhalpur Exhibition Ground, was welcomed with flowers.

Prasad was also distributed to the devotees participating in the procession. To avoid any hindrance, traffic was diverted from Akhara Bazaar.

Due to the presence of Lord Raghunath’s idol, which was brought from Ayodhya in the mid-17th century, Kullu has a deep connection with Ayodhya. All major religious functions of Lord Rama celebrated in Ayodhya are also held here accordingly. Sacred items from Lord Raghunath Temple in Kullu have been sent to Ayodhya for the ceremony and the ‘Chharibardar’ (chief caretaker) of Lord Raghunath, Maheshwar Singh, has gone to Ayodhya with these offerings.
