Lady constable’s road safety efforts recognised by DGP

Currently posted with the Shimla traffic police, Nikita earned widespread recognition after a video went viral showing her filling potholes with mud and stones to make roads safer for commuters. The video, recorded by a passerby, drew praise from both the public and fellow police personnel.
Taking note of her efforts, the DGP presented her with the certificate, lauding her initiative as a shining example for her peers and the community.
“Constable Nikita’s actions reflect the Himachal Pradesh Police’s commitment to public safety and community service. Her dedication is a testament to the values upheld by the force and will inspire others to follow suit,” Tewari said.
He added that her act of going above and beyond not only improved road safety but also set a high benchmark for service. The DGP encouraged her to maintain her commitment and continue setting positive examples within the force.
